Charles A. Ritchey, NHA President charles@DeNovoHealthcareServices.com Charles Ritchey has over 20 years of experience in the health care industry, with extensive experience in crisis management and financial turnaround for distressed nursing and healthcare care facilities. He is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Charles is currently a partner with Innovative Solar Solutions, a renewable energy company based in Charlotte, North Carolina and an active Strategic Partner in the private equity firm New Markets Venture Partners in College Park, Maryland. Prior to forming DeNovo, Charles was Senior Vice President of Operations for White Oak Senior Care, Inc. in Baltimore, Maryland. In this capacity, he was responsible for all crisis management needs. He also served as Chief Operations Officer, Co-founder, and Principal for Xavier Health Care Services, Inc., a long-term care management and acquisitions company. During that time, the company owned and managed up to 15 facilities, with Charles providing successful crisis management. He has served in various Administrator roles throughout the nation, including nursing homes and rehabilitation centers in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Charles began his career in the healthcare industry as Assistant Administrator for Lorien Health Systems in Baltimore, Maryland, responsible for assisting the overall operations of a 230-bed nursing and sub-acute facility. He managed the departments of nursing, therapy, environmental services, activities, social services, admissions, accounting, food service and physician services. Charles also served as Director of Finance and Admissions for Lorien Health Systems, where he effectively restructured the finance and admissions offices of three nursing facilities. Charles has served on the board of directors for the Health Facilities Association of Maryland, the Frostburg State University Alumni Association, and was a Political Action Committee intern for the National Restaurant Association. He graduated from Frostburg State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and is married with two sons. Stephen J. Allen Advisor stephen@DeNovoHealthcareServices.com Stephen Allen has over 30 years of healthcare management experience, with a strong focus on long term care and retirement housing. He has extensive experience in operations and management, strategic planning, finance, program development, overseeing construction and renovations, as well as understanding target markets and trends in both not-for-profit and private sectors. Prior to joining DeNovo Healthcare Services, Stephen was President and Co-founder of Xavier Health Care Services, Inc. He also served as Chief Operations Officer for Home Quality Management, a national health care corporation that owned and managed skilled nursing and assisted living facilities with over 5,000 total beds. Stephen has served in a similar capacity for three subsidiaries: a rehabilitation service company, a senior hospitality company and a managing consulting firm. In 1994, he guided the establishment of the first medical specialty units (sub-acute care) in the State of Maryland, with a focus on orthopedic and pulmonary health care. He was also an integral part of a team that helped to develop the State of Maryland’s DNR/Health Care Decision Act and the criteria that were to be followed. This form prompted many states to follow suit and enabled both patients and healthcare providers to follow the future health care wishes of the patient. A highly respected member of the healthcare industry, Stephen served two terms as the Chairman of the Health Facilities Association of Maryland (HFAM), all while sitting as Chair of the Political Action Committee and Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee. In addition, he is also a member of the American Health Care Association serving on the Council of States. He has been the recipient of several honors including: The Daily Record Health Care Heroes Corporate Achievement Award finalist in 2003 and the Health Care Facilities of Maryland Person of the Year Award in 2006. |
